As a trusted Health & Safety training provider serving gas, water, power and telecom industries you might have some queries regarding our training courses and how we can help you get certified and qualified. We’ll cover our most asked questions relative to our training courses; SHEA, SCO and First Aid & AED.

You can pay for your course(s) online or by card. If you’d prefer to pay by card, please get in touch.
Please contact the team if you need to cancel or move your training day with us (£50 administration charge for date change). Depending on the date of your training day there may be a cancellation fee. If you are due a refund the funds will be transferred back to you via the original method of payment.
Course date amendments cost £50 (+VAT) per amendment. Please contact us directly to arrange another training day for yourself.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. If you need to change or cancel your session due to unavoidable circumstances, please let us know as soon as possible. In such cases, cancellation charges may not apply.
While we can’t provide someone to assist you, we can ensure there’s space for you to bring someone to help.
You’ll need to be confident in speaking, understanding, reading and writing English to take part in one of our training sessions.
We will contact you with all the information regarding your training session prior to the start date. If you need more information ahead of this, please contact us directly for day timings.
Please get in touch and if we have availability on your preferred date, we can arrange that. There will be an amendment fee £50.
Yes, sufficient breaks will be factored into the day’s schedule.

Most courses don’t require any preparation. If you need to do anything ahead of a course, this will be provided when you book.
The EUSR (Energy & Utility Skills Register) is an online skills and training register for those working in the energy and utilities sector. You must have completed and passed an EUSR training and assessment to be added to the EUSR registry.
SHEA stands for Safety Health & Environmental Awareness. The SHEA suit of schemes has been developed to provide the utilities sector with a consistent approach to health, safety and environmental awareness.
Our full courses last 1 day.
Our renewal courses last for half a day.
Our additional courses last for two hours.

The “Additional” SHEA option allows you to add additional SHEA courses to an existing registration. For example, if you hold an EUSR registration under the SHEA Core course and would like to complete SHEA Water training just choose the SHEA Water Additional option as you have already covered the essential, core modules that apply to every SHEA suite.

SHEA Gas registration lasts for 5 years while all other schemes last for 3 years (Power, Water, Waste & resources, Cross Country Pipelines, Telecommunications, Drains & Sewers and Core).
As your training provider, we will submit your assessment details to EUSR for registration. You will receive a physical registration card.
Enhance your awareness of on-site safety; prevent accidents and become better equipped to handle emergencies on-site.
Improve your desirability and hireability! Extra qualifications are a huge plus when applying for jobs showing your prospective employer that you are committed to workplace safety.
EUSR registration grants you access to controlled sites that you otherwise would not have access to without registration.
If you are looking to verify your skills as a utilities or energy worker, obtaining EUSR registration will support you in doing just that!
For those requiring EUSR registration to access controlled sites within the energy and utilities sector. This includes engineers, technicians and fitters for the gas, water, electricity/power and telecommunications sectors.
The scheme is designed for those wishing to gain permanent or temporary access to controlled operational sites, applied to all levels of workers.
We can take a total of 10 students for the SHEA schemes.
Safe Control of Operations (SCO) trains individuals working on the gas network in safety procedures and correct permitry.
Registration needs to be renewed before the 5-year expiry, otherwise, you’ll need to re-complete the initial SCO training. If renewing before the 5-year expiry choose to book SCO renewals.
SCO Initial is for anyone who has never done an SCO course or whose registration has run out. This must be completed in the classroom.
We can take a maximum of 8 individuals for the SCO training.
They are held at our venue in Manchester but we are happy to offer bespoke onsite training subject to minimum numbers.
Renewal SCO courses are completed online in a virtual classroom setting.
Our Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed for those working in high-risk environments. Our course is suited to those working in the construction, power and utilities sectors. We’ll teach you essential life-saving practices in the context of your workplace industry for a better, contextual understanding and application of skills.
An Automated External Defibrillator is used to restart the heart of someone who is experiencing cardiac arrest. This portable device sends an electric shock through a person’s chest when it detects an abnormal heart rate.
Working on-site comes with many risks. Learning life-saving CPR and AED is essential for those working in high-risk environments. Worksites can often be located in remote, difficult-to-reach locations, using an AED can prove life-saving in the time that it takes paramedics or further help to arrive.
Our first aid training courses are designed to teach essential life support skills when faced with a medical emergency. You’ll learn; CPR, how to care for and treat cuts, scrapes and burns, treat shock, and recognise and respond to seizures and heart attacks.
All those who work in fast-paced, high-risk environments, like those in the power and utilities sector, need to understand how to respond to a medical emergency. Worksites are filled with hazards and risks it’s essential you know how to take care of yourself and your colleagues when faced with injuries or emergency situations.
Worksites are often based in remote locations, and emergency response units may not reach casualties fast enough to save a life – those on-site need to learn how to respond to a medical emergency and to do so while emergency services arrive.
Learn essential life-saving skills and how to use an AED.
First Aid certification is valid for three years and should always be renewed before expiry if possible. Renewal refresher courses ensure you stay certified and up to date with essential life-saving practices and skills.
How many individuals can you accommodate in a first-aid training session?
We need a minimum of 5 participants and the maximum is 10.
All first aid courses must be carried out in a face-to-face environment/classroom setting. This training is held at our venue in Manchester, though we can offer bespoke courses upon request.
