Course Overview:

The EUSR SHEA Cross-Country Pipelines (CCPL) scheme is industry-developed, providing individuals with both permanent and temporary access to operational pipeline sites. This EUSR training scheme offers a uniform approach to health, safety awareness, environmental law behaviours and work practices across the utility sector.

Affiliated with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), the certification allows workers to access operational sites of CSCS control to undertake utility work with no need of holding a separate card. Utility industries across the UK are committed to robust mechanism practices; enforcing safety behaviours and safety awareness.

This one-day, SHEA CCPL training course can be carried out online or face-to-face and is accessible to all levels, including operatives, managers and supervisors. Upon course completion and assessment, the awarded EUSR SHEA CCPL certification is valid for three years from the date of assessment. To remain certified, additional SHEA CCPL training will need to be completed before the certification expiry. This course is delivered on request, please contact us to arrange a date.

Course Structure:

The SHEA CCPL training course consists of nine EUSR course modules, inclusive of six core content modules general to the utility industry, focusing on health, safety, environmental law and workplace practices. Three modules are specific to cross-country pipeline construction. Each module is assessed in the form of a multiple-choice test. The training course and assessment are designed to demonstrate the candidate’s level of knowledge, understanding and behavioural awareness through interactive, trainer-led activities.

Core Modules:

  • Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities
  • Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment
  • Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks
  • Module 4: Common hazards in the workplace
  • Module 5: Occupational health hazards
  • Module 6: Responding to emergencies

Additional Modules

  • Module 9: The cross-country environment
  • Module 10: Cross-country pipeline hazards
  • Module 11: Traffic Management

The training programme will be carried out within the context Cross Country Pipelining.

All nine modules and the assessments must be completed and passed to gain EUSR SHEA CCPL registration and certification. This is an Energy & Utility Skills Passport scheme and will not certify skilled expertise or technical competence.
